Funeral services for Noah Harvey (Bob) Cross, 84, of The Canyons, Lake Whitney, were held Saturday, Dec. 12, at Whitney Church of Christ with Bruce Martin officiating. Interment was at Clifton Memorial Cemetery. Noah Cross was born July 11, 1925, in Grice, Texas, to Noah Lee and Viola Pilcher Cross. He passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 8, in Clifton. Cross had lived in DeSoto, Mesquite, Winnsboro, and Lake Whitney. He had worked at Smallwood Machine Shop, and managed service stations in Lancaster, Mesquite, and Pleasant Grove; he had also been a fishing guide on Lake Fork. On May 3, 1947, he married Helen Warner Cross. His hobbies included drag racing, fishing, spending time with his family, and making things. He loved his family and he loved God. Anything he did he went all out and he never settled for anything less. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, and three sisters. Survivors include his son, Bobby Cross of Lake Whitney; daughters, Barbara Crone of Bentonville, Ark., and Vicki Stutts of U.S. Virgin Islands; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Whitney Church of Christ. Clifton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
